Drum screening

Customization is our standard, and every project gets our total commitment and expertise.

Drum Screening

A drum screen is often used as a first step in the process of a sorting line. Senro drumscreens are developed and manufactured for a wide range of applications. And every single drumscreen is being engineered customer specific, such that it is pre-eminently suitable for the material to be processed and the required capacity. For example, the wall thickness of the drum depends on the composition of the material which is to be processed. In addition, the length and diameter of the drum is determined to the desired capacity of the installation, but also to the available space at our client. The shape and mesh size of the sieve perforation is defined in close consultation with our customer, since it is directly related to the subsequent sorting process after the drumscreen.

The Senro drum screens have an internal spiral which ensures the material is moving from front to back. Thus, there is no need to install the drumscreen under an angle which causes several disadvantages. Furthermore, specially designed ‘breakers’ are installed at the inside of the drum in order to continuously tumble and knock over the material inside the drum. The use of the spiral in combination with the breakers prevents the forming of a big ‘sausage’ of the processed material inside the drum, which would significantly decrease the screening effectiveness. If necessary, the outside of the sieve drum can be provided with raised edges which eases the removal of strings, if these occur around the drum. Also, the collection chute of the sieved fraction can be modified in such a way that the sieved fraction will be widely spread on the discharge conveyor. This can be of great importance for the effectiveness of, for example, an overband magnet and/or Eddy Current separator.

Our drum screens are being delivered with a completely closed housing and sound safety measures. If required, a robust platform at a predetermined height can be supplied along with the drum screen as well as feeding- and discharge conveyor belts. All our supplies are in full conformity with the European Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC.

The Senro drum screens have the following features / benefits:

– suitable for many applications
– ‘fit for purpose’ design
– drum made of highly wear resistant material
– shape & mesh size of sieve perforation
customer- and process specific
– inspection provisions alongside drum screen
– easy- and safe access to inside of drum for
inspection and cleaning purposes
– practically free of vibrations due to machined surfaces of the treads
– robust construction
– longwearing drive- and guide wheels
– wide spreading of sieved fraction on discharge belt
– low maintenance costs
– minimal slinging of the drum (roundness tolerance < 3mm)
– ability to sieve multiple fraction sizes

Senro drum screens can be used for the following applications:

– household waste (MSW)
– industrial waste
– construction and demolition waste
– processing of all sorts of (waste) materials
